New Information Source for Irish Businesses 5,000 times the size of Internet
Lendac Data Systems has announced a new partnership with the Dialog
Corporation, which willto enable
Irish businesses toaccess to a massive store of
information that is 5,000 times the size of the
Internet. Lendac will now provide
access to the Dialog, Datastar and Profound Information products on an all
island basis.
“Companies require up-to-date information in ever increasing amounts,” said
Don Lehane Joint
Managing Director of Lendac Data Systems “and while the Internet is
obviously a marvellous innovation, search engines only reach about .03% of the
content available on the Internet. With
content growing by 7.5 million documents a day there is a huge backlog of
documents to be indexed which effectively results in an overload of information
that is frequently out of date and almost always irrelevant.
Companies need speedy and accurate access to the specific information
they require and these new products available from Dialog mean that over 1.2
billion unique records will be available to our client base. These products enable clients to cut through
these vast volumes of information to bring back the relevant facts accurately
and quickly.”
Lendac’s client base includes most of the Irish universities, Health Boards,
Government Departments, Financial and Corporate Institutions the
Medicines Board, some of the health boards, the Legal Aid Board, the Food
Safety Authority, the Environmental Protection Agency along with a number of
government departments.
The Dialog service provides information on over 20 key industries,
including aerospace, law, business intelligence etc. Dialog is particularly
strong in intellectual property, science and technology and business news.

healthcare related industries, with a broad coverage of business and financial
news. The Profound service includes market research reports, newspapers and
magazines, authoritative Financial and economic analysis plus financial reports
